June Talk with Reg Pielesz

It's June, it's the first month of summer and this week, we're feeling it with beautiful hot weather! Each week we talk to business owners in and around the UK about how the month is looking for them. Today we're talking to Reg Pielesz, General Manager, Guildhall Tavern Poole which offers fine dining with an emphasis on seafood.

JUNE is the first month of Summer – what will you be doing this summer in your business? 
We are a new restaurant and we'll be offering a new cocktail list and a dinner with wine from July 5 - do check out our website for more details.

What are your personal plans for summer activities?
For me it will all be about family time and spending time with those I love the most.

June is often associated in nature with growth and abundance – what are your plans for growth?
It's not just growth it's a new business - a cocktail bar? To get it open and busy as soon as possible. 
We're also offering three one bedroom apartments

As we hit this mid point of 2022– which one business has really supported or helped you over the last quarter? 
As a new business we've really needed support from several other businesses - not just one. I'd like to mention

• Corney and Barrow wine
• Seafresh
• Premier fish
• Meadowbrook produce
• Majestic wine!

Have you got any events planned for the coming months which you’d like to mention?

June 1 to 7 this year is Volunteers Week – do you volunteer at all and if so, where and why? 
Yes I've done some work with the Rubicon UK veterans charity as it means a lot to me for various personal reasons.

June 30 is Social Media Day – what does social media mean to you and your business? 
It's vital in business these days. For us it's particularly Facebook and Instagram and we see it as free advertising with the potential to reach 1000s of clients.

Have you got any summer services or special offers you’d like to mention?
I'd like to flag up our lunch set menu which is on offer Tuesday to Fridays between 11.30am to 2.30pm

And finally: 
This is an important time for guests to be kind and to realise how hard hospitality staff are working. It takes nothing to be nice and realise after two years locked down, nobody should be in a rush!
