Kyle Holmes of Black Nova Designs shares what's happening for his business this month!

It’s March! The first month of Spring and the month the clocks go forward this month so it will be lighter nights and less time asleep! It was also the Budget this month! What does the world of business look like this week?

Today we’re talking to Kyle Holmes who is the original owner and director of Black Nova Designs and Black Nova Technologies. Both companies focus on helping businesses and individuals with their technology and issues surrounding this.

How is March looking for you in your business?  
The 31st of March is our year end, so this month is always a case of going through the numbers for me, checking if things have been accounted for correctly. I’m all about continuous improvement so I’m always thinking about how we uplevel our systems or make changes for next year!

Are you taking part in any wider events or business collaborations this month?
We don’t have anything this month, however, we are always open to working with other businesses on collaborations.

The Budget took place on March 6. What did you think of it? Is it good for your business or not?
As a business owner with employees the budget hasn’t really changed all that much for me. For our employees the NI contributions changed slightly along with other factors, but as a business owner I could not see any changes that would affect me that much.

This month it’s International Women’s Day, St David’s Day, National No Smoking Day. Are there an awareness day or week this month which is important to you or your business?
My wife Danielle celebrated International Women's Day at an event on Thursday 7th run by Samantha Jayne which was raising money for a Swindon domestic abuse charity. Danielle shared her story of going from a single mum in £30k+ of debt to being a multi-business owner, and I will be forever proud of her and what we have achieved together.  

Is it your business’s birthday this month or an anniversary of any kind? Will you be marking it at all?
It is our nine-year business birthday this month, so we’ll be doing something small to celebrate. However, we're saving our energy and money to celebrate next year in a big way. 10 years in business is huge, and I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone! Keep an eye out for more info later this year on how we plan to mark the occasion. 

March is also Mother’s Day (March 10) is this an important day for your business?
This doesn’t really have any relevance to our business, only that Danielle works so hard to juggle being a mum and running several businesses - and keeping me on track! 

Would you like to share your thoughts about your mother, a mother figure in your life or your life with a mother or as a mother?
Just another shoutout to my wife Danielle who is the best mum and step mum to my stepdaughter and son we could ever wish for, my son lives with us full time so as a family of four it is a lot to juggle. Danielle is an absolute hero and is the most wonderful role model and I am so proud of her.

In the yearly cycle of your business – what do you expect during March?  
It’s often not just our year end this month and many other businesses look to spend money at their year-end, so the last few weeks of March often go crazy with website bookings. Here’s hoping this will  happen again this year. We have lots of availability for website designs and hosting, so make sure you get in touch!

Have you got any special offers for March or April that you’d like to mention?
No special offers as such, our hosting is very priced competitively anyway – and sustainable.

Anything else you’d like to say?
