May Talk with Paul Dearing

The end of May is fast coming around and plans are afoot everywhere for the upcoming Platinum Jubilee where we celebrate the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Each week we speak to business owners to find out how things are going for them. Today we're talking to Paul Dearing who is an associate director with RE/MAX which is an estate and lettings agency which operates globally.

May is the last month of Spring – how has Spring been for you so far in your business?
It has been a great Spring, the property market is buoyant and property prices strong.

This has been a challenging time for some businesses – with issues around supply chains and cost of living rises – how are you facing that as a business or as a consumer? 
The cost of living rises may result in more properties coming to the market if people aren’t in a good financial position, or possible redundancies. At the moment the property market is busy and even though interest rates have risen recently there's no sign that it's slowing down. Historically interest rates are still very low. 

How do you maintain customer service when faced with issues such as staff shortages?
I maintain customer service as it’s myself that deals with clients throughout the process and I have support from colleagues in RE/MAX should I need it.

What’s your one top business tip to help others be positive about their business?
Be sure to be visible and to get out and about so that you can be easily found.
