November Talk with Paul Day of FIlestream Ltd

We’re at the end of November and the weather is getting colder and businesses are preparing for the end of the year. Today we’re talking to Paul Day who is the Technical Director at Filestream Ltd Document Management based in Wokingham.

What’s your business highlight for November 2022?
We came runner up in the Document Management awards. We won in the category last year and we are so proud of the fact that we were able to come in second out of eleven other amazing businesses.

Are you doing anything in November for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
I always do my normal charity donations and work every month. I also have all my planning for December because it’s a busy month for me as I am booked being Father Christmas for local groups.

Has the recent turmoil in the economy, government or the cost of living crisis affected your business?
I think it has affected everyone to be honest. The cost of living increasing is a worry for many families and at this time of year when people are looking forward to Christmas it is also important to check on everyone to see they are OK.

What’s your top tip for being positive in the midst of a lot of negativity?
Asking if someone is ok costs nothing, letting them know you are here if they need a chat means more than you could imagine.

Did you know November 13 was World Kindness Day – has anyone shown kindness to you in the last month or so? 
Kindness is seen every day in my eyes whether it be letting someone out in traffic or just saying good morning to the person that is struggling

Are there any awareness days or special weeks in November which are relevant to your business/organisation or sector?
Cyber Monday is a big one as we all need to be cyber aware!!!

Have you got any events planned for November or December you’d like to shout about – either that you are running or attending?
We have a lot happening in the next couple of months! Tomorrow we are attending the North West Business Expo in Manchester and then on November 30th we’re at the Thames Valley Business Awards in Reading and then on December 8th we’re at the South West Business Awards. We are looking forward to supporting and raising money for the Cherishers charity who do great work supporting people in their community.
