COTSWOLDS BASED PERSONAL TRAINER TO RUN ULTRA MARATHON IN SUPPORT OF HORSFALL HOUSE

James Hilton, personal trainer and founder of Jim’s Gym is set to lace up his running shoes for a noble cause.

In November he will take on the challenge of the Ultra-Trail Cape Town to raise £1000 in support of Horsfall House.

Renowned for his expertise in biomechanics and injury recovery, James, who lives in Stroud, is committed to promoting active lifestyles among individuals aged over 55. Through his virtual platform, Jim’s Gym, he has empowered numerous individuals to embrace healthier lifestyles from the comfort of their own homes.

Last year, James made a pledge to raise vital funds for a local charity, Horsfall House. In addition to fundraising, he regularly conducts complimentary fitness sessions at Horsfall House aimed at keeping residents active and engaged.

Horsfall House, marking its 30th anniversary this year, is a cornerstone of care and support for the elderly in the community in Minchinhampton. Established by Dr Chris Booth, a local GP, and sustained by the generosity of Miss Jean Horsfall, today the charity provides specialized nursing home services, dementia care, a vibrant day centre, and home care assistance.

“Horsfall House relies heavily on connections with local businesses and individual’s good will to ensure its continued success,” said David Monument, Head of Marketing and Fundraising.

“James epitomises the heart of Horsfall House, and we love his selfless, people centred approach. Not only is he fun to be around, but he is committed to support the older communities too, and we love having him on board. He brings a smile everyone’s faces, staff included” he continued.

Expressing his dedication to the cause, James said, "I've seen first-hand the profound impact of Horsfall House's commitment to its residents. Their mission deeply aligns with my passion for promoting active aging”.

James shares, "Since I began volunteering at Horsfall House, I've witnessed the incredible care they provide to their residents and I've grown fond of everyone there. From the facilities to the staff, it's a fantastic nursing home and I'm honoured to support it. I'll do everything in my power to raise essential funds to ensure they can continue providing exceptional care to the wonderful residents."

“Running the Ultra-Trail Marathon isn't just a personal challenge; it's an opportunity to support the invaluable work of Horsfall House’.

The staff and residents of Horsfall House are grateful for James' commitment to raising essential funds, which will enable them to continue providing outstanding care.

David said “For James to voluntarily come and visit our residents and service users and help get them up and moving is one thing, to then willingly run an ultra-marathon thousands of miles away for us as well is beyond incredible.

“100% of the funds he raises directly supporting our residents and service users, helping us to expand our services and ensure we give them the very best at later life”.
