Samantha Jayne shares her plans for August!

August is upon us – it’s the month of holidays, summer fun and time off for many people. It’s also the time of the Olympics (from July 26) and the Paralympics (from August 28).

So how are small business owners coping with the month often known as ‘silly season’?

Up today is Samantha Jayne who is a spiritual business coach based out of Uffcott, near Swindon and today she is sharing what June is looking like for her.

How is August looking in your business? Does this month hold any special significance in your business? Anniversary, milestone, accreditation, new premises? New staff?
August is looking like a month of fun for myself and my team working in new venues and with new business owners. I have a number of events this month that are a sell out and looking forward to filming at one of them too.
 

What advice/tips would you give to small business owners trying to navigate the ‘holiday’ period?
I always advice my business coaching clients to not drop their energy level into their businesses. Yes, book time out to be with family, friends and a spot of self care but too many business owners subconsciously use the summer holidays to do less work, less promotional activity and then wonder why in September they are struggling to re-activate client work. It is the businesses that don't drop into this, the ones that continue to show up that reap the rewards in September.

It’s the Olympics or Paralympics this month – any thoughts, memories or relevance to you or your business or organisation this month?
I am delighted to see that Chris Hunt Skelley MBE has been selected as part of Paralympics GB. I met him on several occasions, and he really is not just an inspiration but a great human being and beautiful role model for others.

August 13 is International Left Handers Day – if relevant – are you left-handed and what issues, if any, have you ever had around being left-handed?
I myself am left-handed! i see it as a sign that someone is more creative, in fact the majority of my coaching clients are left-handed and I love that. 

August 20 is World Photo Day – can you share a photo as an attachment which means something to you this year so far?
Every photo tells a story. Sometimes we have no idea how much we have helped others. This time last year at an event, this man approached me and told me I had saved his life the year before. He had been horrendously hurt in an accident and was due to lose limbs and they believed he would lose his life. Having never met him I had been asked to send healing which I did, and I asked my healing circle to do the same. This is him now. Alive and well!

Did you know August 21 is World Entrepreneurs Day? What does this word mean to you and do you apply it to yourself?
For me World Entrepreneur Day is an opportunity to celebrate the business owners who stepped out of their comfort zone and made a difference not only in their lives, but in the lives of others through the work they are doing. Despite all the odds being stacked against them, they did it!
