SPORTS INJURY SPECIALIST STARTS HIS OWN BUSINESS TO HELP THE OVER-40s IMPROVE AND MAINTAIN THEIR FITNESS

Sports injury specialist Nick White has started his own business in Swindon after taking a leap of faith to pursue his passion for health and fitness.

The 48-year-old has launched TiME Clinics from his home in the Stratton area of Swindon where he helps people recover from sports injuries, build up mobility and fitness after an operation or improve their quality of life through hands-on therapy and developing consistent habits when it comes to movement and exercise.

Nick, who was a plumber for many years, has loved sports and fitness from childhood participating in sports from American football to body building – it’s always been a big part of his life. He first came to Swindon in the 1990s, took part in and then ran martial arts classes and was integral to the Swindon Storm American Football team.

“However, a major turning point came for me in 2012 when I broke my leg very badly playing American football.  After two operations to put my leg back together, I found there was very little support to get me back on my own two feet. Due to years of being involved in fitness, I started to create my own rehabilitation programme as I wanted to be able to continue to enjoy sport and keep my fitness going. I’m now fitter and stronger than I’ve ever been so it worked!” Nick said.

As a result of that experience, and with the support of his wife Julie, Nick decided to gain formal qualifications and today he’s a qualified Level 5 sports and clinical therapist and human movement specialist. He also holds Levels 3 and 4 in sports and remedial massage therapy. In 2021, he committed to become a qualified osteopath and is a first year student with the College of Osteopaths in London.

Both Nick and Julie are committed to leading a healthy and active lifestyle together. They eat a healthy diet and they train with weights together, participate in competitive fitness events and they are keen ramblers and caravanners.

Nick has created and opened a purpose-built clinic at his home in Swindon with plans to expand and offer aligned treatments with other vetted therapists in the future.

“I’m able to support people with back, neck, shoulder, hip or knee pain, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, tennis elbow, general sports injuries to help them safely resume the activities they love.

“I particularly support women and men in their 40s and 50s, though my oldest client so far has been 85!” Nick said.

TiMe Clinics (which stands for Therapy, Integrated Movement and Education) offers support for all types of pain following a sporting injury or through any other activity. For more information visit https://www.timeclinics.co.uk
