Yvonne Parker

What will September bring for Yvonne Parker?

September is upon us; summer holidays are over, and children are back to school. We’re in the final quarter of 2022 and talking to businesses about what September will bring for them.

Today we’re talking to Yvonne Parker of Yvonne Parker Hypnotherapy based in Swindon. She is a trained hypnotherapist who provides hypnotherapy, EMDR, EFT, NLP and past life regression to help her clients to resolve their fears, phobias, habits or behaviours that they would like to change within their lives.

What’s coming up for your business in September?
September is a busy month for me. I am hosting my first day retreat in collaboration with Jill from Uptown Yoga on 11th September, I have been asked to speak at MyTribe which is a Women’s Social evening networking event on the 14th September in Melksham to discuss the benefits of hypnosis and the impact on the mind.

I am also running a new group program starting from 29th September for Weight Management. I am very excited about all of these events.

It’s ‘back to school’ month – is this relevant to you personally or professionally?
Yes, professionally there can be anxiety and overwhelm for both parents and children alike if the child is starting a new school or maybe attending school for the first time. Some of the techniques I use are really great for feeling much calmer and more able to cope with these feelings and emotions that may arise.

September is also known as ‘organic’ month – do you shop, dress, or behave with green ethics in mind?

Yes, I do where I can.

World Gratitude Day takes place this month (Sept 21) – what are you grateful for at the moment?
I am grateful for surviving in business after the pandemic as I was a relatively new business when this happened. I am always very grateful when clients trust me to help them with their issue or problem.

Who are you grateful for at the moment?

I'm grateful for my dad, for his constant support, help and advice in my personal life

To my coach Samantha Jayne for her unwavering help and support for my business

To Jen Albano for showing me the Hypopressive method of breathing to support me with my own health and wellbeing.

What are your hopes for business for the rest of this year?
To continue to develop and grow my business to be able to support more clients to feel happier and calmer in their lives.

To continue building a business support network around me.

To continue improving my knowledge within my industry to get the message far and wide that Hypnosis is a safe and amazing practice to help people with their everyday health and mental wellbeing.

We are dealing with a lot of messages around ‘bad’ news such as the rising cost of living, inflation rising and interest rates rising. How are you keeping positive – what tips can you share with others?
I meditate and self-hypnotise to help me feel calmer and I practise my Hypopressive breathing to give myself time and space to process my thoughts. I also think of positive affirmations and the ‘my cup is always half full’ analogy, so I am very grateful for everything and everyone I have in my life.  I also do some EFT tapping on myself too as this is something you are able to do for yourself very easily every day.

I spend time with positive people, friends and family.

Have you got any events planned you’d like to shout about – either that you are running or attending?
I have quite a few in September! The Reboot and Rebalance Retreat on 11th September is a day of yoga, meditation, sound bath, hypnosis and NLP to get you rebooted and rebalanced in your life.

My Group Weight Management program is a 5 week program starting 29th September where I will help clients get back in touch with themselves to make better choices by hypnosis suggestion.

I'm running Group Past Life Regression session 14th October where you can discover and find out if you have had any past lives.

I am attending the MyTribe event on 14th September at the Rugby Club in Melksham which is for women to get together in a social environment with other businesswomen, to make new connections and not feel so isolated in business.

September 30 is International Podcast Day – do you listen to podcasts or do you have one of your own? Can you share a tip? Which podcasts should others check out?
I do listen to a few podcasts and I find them very informative on different subjects that are of interest to me.A tip to share is if you are invited on a podcast and feel like you’re having a panic attack, try and close your eyes and imagine breathing in a colour that soothes and turn the panic into a colour to breath out.

Then say in your head

Breathing in X colour is calm

Breathing out X colour is removing all panic

Keep repeating this breathing in and out and you should start to find yourself feeling calmer.

And finally, can you share something which inspires you to ‘keep going’?
Two thing that inspire me to keep going are taking part in positive/inspiring Facebook groups where everyone is uplifted by each other helps me personally and having a supportive network of friends, business and personal and family around me constantly.
