Yvonne Parker of Yvonne Parker Hypnotherapy has had a busy August!
August is upon us – it’s the month of holidays, summer fun and time off for many people. It’s also the time of the Olympics (from July 26) and the Paralympics (from August 28).
So how are small business owners coping with the month often known as ‘silly season’?
Up today is Yvonne Parker of Yvonne Parker Hypnotherapy. She provides hypnotherapy, EMDR, EFT, NLP, past life regression and mind massage sessions in Swindon and online to help her clients unburden and declutter their minds. Her job is to help facilitate them getting clearer in their thinking and decision making by helping them make changes in their mindset. This also helps them to maintain their mind health and general wellbeing and to resolve any of their unwanted fears, phobias, blocks, habits, behaviours, or patterns that are stopping them from moving forwards in their lives.
How has August been in your business?
August generally does tend to be a quieter month with the school holiday season and families and clients taking their summer break. I have seen an increase in inquiries coming through from people for a variety of issues as people are looking ahead to the future and September to bring in changes they want to make and how they want to use hypnotherapy to help them resolve these problems once and for all.
What were your personal plans for this month?
This month we celebrated my Dad’s 80th birthday. We enjoyed some time together as a family celebrating with him on his special day.
What advice/tips would you give to small business owners trying to navigate the ‘holiday’ period?
Be kind to yourself – keep going even if things may be slow or feel overwhelming as there is still business going on in August. If you are trying to juggle looking after family as well, then give yourself as much space as you can to enjoy these moments rather than admonishing yourself over not completing targets or tasks. Do what you can, and this will be enough.
It was the Olympics and now the Paralympics this month – any thoughts, memories or relevance to you or your business or organisation this month?
I remember when the Olympics were hosted in London in 2012 and we were lucky enough to attend the equestrian cross country event at Greenwich Park the atmosphere was simply amazing. I admire all of the athletes for their strong determination and mindset for their own sports performance and wellbeing to compete.
August 20 was World Photo Day. Can you share a photo which means something to you this year so far?
This reminds me of the lovely time spent with my Mum and Dad earlier in the year in Spain where we were celebrating my Mum’s 80th birthday.
Did you know August 21 was World Entrepreneurs Day? What does this word mean to you and do you apply it to yourself?
Yes, I did. This word reminds me of all the wonderful people I have met on my own entrepreneurial journey and how courageous and resilient these people are. Many of them are innovators and inspire others to make changes and do something different, as it can be tough being a business owner with all that this brings with it.
Can you name one business you’d like to give a summer shout out too? Who has gone the extra mile for you recently?
I would like to give a shout out to Lauren Lobban from Head To Soul where I have recently undergone training to complete my Reiki I course. She is an amazing teacher and her training was so easy to understand but comprehensive at the same time. So for anyone looking to improve themselves or learn a new skill with Reiki then please get in touch with Lauren through her website https://headtosoul.co.uk/
Have you got any events planned for the autumn you’d like to shout about – either that you are running or attending?
I am looking forward to attending the Circle Networks Live Conference in Birmingham in September and also attending a retreat with Samanthat Jayne in November in Worcester.
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
If you would like to come and do a seasonal declutter of your mind. I host regular 1-1 Mind Massage sessions so that you can come to sweep away those unhelpful thoughts and detox, and unburden your mind on a much deeper level through hypnosis. This will help you to gain clarity for your next step in your business or personal life, the two are very interlinked and it is the inner work we do that will help us move forwards.
I will also be hosting my Past Life Regression sessions 1-1 or on a small group basis.
