QPR could be set to recall Michael Doughty and Darnell Furlong from Swindon loans
Reports from West London Sport suggest that Michael Doughty and Darnell Furlong are set to have their loan spells at Swindon Town cut short.
Ian Holloway, who was re-appointed as manager of Queens Park Rangers on November 11 watched the pair of loan rangers during Swindon's 3-0 win over Charlton earlier on this season when he was doing punditry work for Sky Sports.
“I watched Darnell Furlong and Michael Doughty. I was buzzing! They played so well the both of them,” Holloway said.
“It was like, ‘wow!’. Fantastic. They’re tender but the young one (Doughty) has got 140 games under his belt already.
“When I met them afterwards it was just fantastic. And if I can help young Furs after I helped old Furs – it’s just unbelievable.
“Furs (Paul Furlong) got hammered and I stood up for him. I told people to come to my garden and take me on. You’ve got to stand up for your players.”
Doughty and Furlong's deal at Swindon lasts until the end of the season but both have an option in their contract that allows their loan to be terminated as and when QPR request.
They have five goals between them this season with Doughty being Town's joint-top scorer in all competitions (three) while Furlong has two.
Players can be recalled from their loans, but only during the designated windows, so the two of them will still be at the club for the trips to Millwall and MK Dons but could return to Loftus Road next month.
If they do not go back to west London in January they will remain at Swindon until the end of the season.
