Make-Up Your Mind Exhibition Launches in Swindon Town Centre

inSwindon BID, The Brunel Shopping Centre and The Parade welcomed a very unique exhibition to the town centre this morning, produced by Media Make-up students from New College as part of the month long campaign, Love Fashion Live.

Joined by Deputy Mayor, Kevin Parry, New College Principal, Carole Kitching, course leader Gemma Mulrooney and the many students involved, visitors were invited to delve into the world of media make-up as the Exhibition was declared open with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

inSwindon BID CEO, Di Powell said “We are thrilled to be working with New College Media Make-Up students and their course leader to bring this exciting exhibition to the town centre. It’s a fantastic addition to our month long campaign Love Fashion Live and is sure to entice visitors and aspiring media make-up students to experience a variety of different make-up and hair looks which can be seen across film and TV.”

The Make-Up your Mind exhibition will be hosted by students and teachers from 10th - 27th May, from 11-3pm daily in Unit 12-14 of The Parade, situated next to H&M.

Love Fashion Live is a month long campaign and was first produced by The Brunel Shopping Centre in 2018. Since then inSwindon BID and The Parade have been working in collaboration with The Brunel to bring the event to the whole of the town centre.

There are several other events in the month long fashion promotion in Swindon town centre including the Personalisation Station returning for a second year to The Brunel, offering 10 minute makeovers and advice on 18th and 19th May where Boots and Aqua-G will be offering free express treatments on The Brunel Upper Plaza from 11-3pm. 

A smaller more personal night of fashion hints and tips in The Crossing during an exclusive Secret Style Night with The Brunel takes place on Monday 20th May from 7pm-9:30pm showcasing fashion and beauty and includes free goody bags and more with The Secret Stylist and Swindon’s own national TV and Beauty Expert, Gina Akers. Tickets are priced at £5 and can be purchased here.

New College will be hosting a Body Art Boutique on 25th -26th May in The Brunel Lower Arcade from 11-3pm with body painting demo’s, face painting and glitter transfers.  Plus for you young fashionista’s there is Family Fashion Corner Crafts which will take place inside The Brunel Lower Arcade from 11-3pm on 31st May.
