Swindon Wildcats sign Edgars Bebris for 2018/19 season

Swindon Wildcats are thrilled to announce the return of Edgars Bebris to the team for the forthcoming NIHL campaign.

Eddie will be part of the line-up for the 18/19 season, but he’s signed a 2-year deal ensuring he’ll be a Wildcat for the 19/20 season as well!

Eddie, who joined the Wildcats just before Christmas from the Coventry Blaze, played a crucial role in the Wildcats charge to both the Autumn Cup and the NIHL Cup successes. Scoring a total of 35 points in 32 games for the club.

The 26-year-old British forward will be looking to continue his development next season despite a successful half campaign in Wiltshire.

“I loved my time in Swindon last year and to win two trophies was brilliant. The boys in the locker-room were great, and made it really easy come into mid-season. I wanted to win trophies, and so did they.

I wanted to come back to the Wildcats again, and when I told Aaron that he made me an offer soon after and the deal was struck quite quickly. It was a very easy decision to stay in Swindon.

I was personally happy with my performances, but I always want to improve. For me, next season the main trophy to aim for is the league title. If we win the league then the other trophies become easier, we want to be the best team in the league and that is the aim.”

After securing a deal to bring back such an influential member of the first Wildcats team to win a trophy in 27 years, Player/Coach Aaron Nell was undoubtedly thrilled to have Eddie back for a full season.

“I’m over the moon to have Eddie back for next season. When we signed him in December it was like adding the last piece of the puzzle, and from then on everything fell into place. He is an unbelievable player and he settled in well. He’s a big player, he’s tough to play against and he scores big goals.

I’m sure the fans will be equally as happy to see him back in a Swindon jersey next season and the year after that as well!”.
