Let's Talk
Accrington clash is no more important than any other game for Swindon Town boss David Flitcroft
Swindon Town manager David Flitcroft is placing no added importance on tomorrow's trip to promotion rivals Accrington.
Accrington are flying high in third currently and welcome eighth-placed Swindon to the Crown Ground on Saturday afternoon.
Swindon are five points behind Stanley going into tomorrow's six-pointer and will find themselves cut adrift from the chasing pack with a defeat but Flitcroft insists it's just another game for his out-of-form Robins, who have lost their last four in all competitions.
"It's just important full stop," the gaffer insisted.
"The first game against Carlisle was important, the away game against Morecambe, they're all the same.
"Everyone else will put a significance on [it] but it's an away game that we want to be competitive in and we travel up there knowing our preparation's been good this season to commit to an away performance."
Accrington, who have one of the lowest budgets in the division, are performing above all expectations under boss John Coleman and Flitcroft recognised the good work by his opposite number.
"It's works, it's a match that fans love John and [assistant] Jimmy Bell and they feel that affection, they've done so much to rise that club from the non-league scene and they've steadily progressed year-in, year-out.
"They've stuck with them when they've probably had opportunities to go but when they went back the second time and there was a bit of investment there, they've got that quality.
"They've always had that Accrington way and the John Coleman way, a very hungry group of players.
"John doesn't give them a minute and he drives them and motivates them fantastically well. He's been building and building a very good League Two team and they've been up there the last two or three years.
"It's come together this season but they narrowly missed out a couple of years ago but they've kept improving which does happen when you give someone that longevity and that timescale."
