Adam Ellis Full of Praise After Beating the Wolverhampton Wolves to Guarantee Top Spot

Swindon Robins number two Adam Ellis was full of praise for his side after beating the Wolverhampton Wolves to guarantee top spot. TotalSport Swindon’s Ryan Walker spoke to Ellis in the aftermath of the victory.

The win for the Robins made it their seventeenth straight League victory, and Ellis was delighted with the result.

“ It’s another big win for the team tonight.” Ellis began.

“ It’s really important especially because it’s against such a strong team as Wolves.

“ It was a really solid performance from everyone and thankfully we had a couple of good guests in the side.” He added.

“ We got the win and that’s the important part.” Said Ellis.

With both teams in first and second place always meant it would be a closely contested meeting, and Ellis agreed that it was the first time in a while Swindon have had a truly competitive meeting.

“ Without disrespect to any of the teams we faced on Monday they weren’t as tough as what we faced tonight.” Stated Ellis.

“Wolverhampton is such a strong team.

“It’s fantastic to be able to beat them by so much when they are in a really good run of form as well.” He said.

No loss since May shows the strength in this Swindon Robins side but now guaranteed top spot, the France born rider admitted the real work starts now.

“We haven’t lost a match since May.” Said the Brit.

“We’ve showed that we are a solid team and are all riding really well together.

“It’s going really well and hopefully we can keep this run going into the playoffs.”

“The real hard work starts now.” Iterated Ellis.

Whilst the aim at the start of the year was to reach the playoffs, Ellis told that once the side started winning meetings the goal was to always reach the top of the table.

“The main aim at the start of the year was to get into the playoffs and now we are here.” Explained Ellis.

“When we hit the top of the table about a month ago we decided to really go for it and push for the top,

“We are all really happy and now we need to keep our minds focused before heading into the playoffs.” He added.

“I’m not too sure which side we would most want to face in the playoffs.

“Any team we ride against will be tough because all those in the playoffs will be up for it. “ Said Ellis.
