0700 392 1235An eagerly anticipated Premiership Grand Final first-leg saw the Swindon Robins arrive on the East Coast seeking to keep the scoreline close ahead of Thursday’s return leg at the Abbey Stadium.
However the Blunsdon club stunned the packed-out home crowd by running away with proceedings and securing an eight-point victory over the Witches. And Rossiter gave full praise to his team of riders following the meeting.
“Im very very happy with that,” said Rossiter.
“The track looked quite heavy coming into tonight but that didn’t faze out.
“Full credit to our riders they were fantastic and all battled away.
“I’d have been happy if it was a two point lead but to go away with a win is excellent.
“Hopefully we can win it in front of our home crowd,” he said.
Bringing an aggregate advantage back to the Abbey Stadium will fill Robins fans with immense confidence with Swindon unbeaten on their home track this season.
However having never won the league title on home soil, Alun Rossiter has dared Swindon fans to dream of tasting title success on home turf this season.
“We should be confident on our home track,” stated Rossiter.
“We ride it well and are beating teams comfortably.
“Let’s dream the dream,” he added.
“It’d be really nice to win it in front of our home fans, Swindon we need you!
“We want the fans to come out and support us.
“Get there early and get behind the boys.” Said Rossiter.
