Four-midable Swindon Town seal victory over Rovers

Frontman Paul Glatzel was at the double as Swindon Town sealed a 4-0 victory over Bristol Rovers in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

Youngsters Joel McGregor and Botan Ameen also netted, the latter on his senior debut for Town, to seal their second win of the season in all competitions.

Former Liverpool youngster Glatzel took just two minutes to open the scoring at the Nigel Eady County Ground. He looped the ball into the net after being set through by Sean McGurk.

He then added a second after capping off a neatly-worked move, slotting home a cross from Jake Cain.

Youngster McGragor then recorded his first senior goal for the club when he fired in from the edge of the box after 30 minutes.

And Mark Kennedy’s side put the game to bed before half-time when Ameen turned in from a corner to add a fourth.

Victory put Swindon second in Southern Section Group G, with one win from two games.

Town are back in action when they visit Michael Flynn’s Cheltenham Town in League Two on Saturday (3pm).
