Town midfielder Ben Gladwin, who has experienced a rich run of form since his return to the County Ground, has been recalled by parent club Queens Park Rangers as they bid for a strong end to their 2016 campaign.
Egyptian Adam El-Abd has also made a return back down the M5 to Bristol City, while first team players Wes Thomas and Louis Thompson have also rejoined their parent clubs Birmingham City and Norwich City respectively, following the end of their loan contract agreements.
The departures leave the Town squad without key personnel, with the absence of Gladwin set to be a disappointment for chairman Lee Power, who was looking to retain the services of the attacking midfielder for the duration of the season.
In 13 appearances for the Robins Gladwin found the back of the net twice, including a stunning strike against Coventry City, and was an instrumental part of the apparent revival under now former manager Martin Ling.
Newly appointed QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who joined the club from Burton Albion, commented upon the club's decision to recall Gladwin.
"Ben has been training with us this week,” Hasselbaink said.
