David Flitcroft says Swindon Town have "definitely turned a corner" at home

Following Swindon's 1-0 win over promotion rivals Mansfield Town, David Flitcroft is now convinced the Robins have turned a corner with regards to their home form.

Matt Taylor's solitary strike was enough for Swindon to secure the three points on Saturday afternoon and it means that, after initially struggling at home, Swindon have now won four matches in a row at the County Ground.

A humiliating 5-0 defeat at home to Luton Town on Boxing Day led to manager Flitcroft ditching the 4-2-3-1 in favour of a 3-4-1-2 system and that has been the catalyst for improved form, especially at home, as Swindon have not dropped points in Wiltshire since the change.

A 1-0 win over Notts County was followed by the same result against Forest Green before a thrilling 4-3 comeback win against Crewe and now Saturday's 1-0 over the Stags.

Prior to the Luton defeat, Swindon were ranked 22nd in the League Two home table and the four wins since have lifted them up to 16th in the home rankings.

"We've flipped the [home] form and you can see that there's an energy. The last 25 minutes from the crowd I want that, I've not given them enough wins this season and I'm desperate to do that as a manager, as a person.

"I live in Swindon and I'd love to give them more wins. We've definitely turned a corner and you can feel it with the players.

"They've come in, they've got used to playing.

I think that getting Timi Elsnik in, who's not been held back by the negativity of the last few seasons and Banksy [Ollie Banks] and Rico [Marc Richards], then you are creating a new energy and players that haven't been bogged down with the negativity at home in recent years."

Swindon are back on the road again next, as they visit another promotion rival in Wycombe on Tuesday, but return to home soil next Saturday when Port Vale come to town.
