David Flitcroft set to depart Swindon Town for Mansfield
According to reports this evening, Swindon Town manager David Flitcroft is set to depart the club to join fellow League Two club Mansfield.
Mansfield lost their manager Steve Evans on Tuesday night when he resigned from his role at the Stags to take over at League One Peterborough on Wednesday.
Ex-Southend manager Phil Brown was the immediate favourite among bookies, but Swindon's Flitcroft quickly overtook Brown to become the leading candidate among bookmakers.
Flitcroft has only been Swindon manager since June last year and was given the task to take Town back up to League One at the first attempt.
He has currently managed to get Swindon seventh in League Two, in the play-offs but with a realistic chance of making the top three, and has won 21 of his 42 games in charge in all competitions, giving him a win percentage of 50.
Mansfield are currently 5th, and have revealed they will announce their new manager at 10:45 tomorrow morning.
