Deadline Day: Koeman Hints At Jack Stephens Loan

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has today admitted that Jack Stephens may be heading out on loan, with Swindon Town known to be one of the clubs keen to secure a deal.

The Southampton boss had originally stated no significant movement would take place at St Mary's during deadline day, but has now admitted younger players, namely Jack Stephens, may be heading out on loan to pick up more playing time.

Town fans will be no stranger to Stephens, who has previously graced the County Ground on loan during the 2014-15 campaign, making 37 appearances and finding the back of the net on one occasion.

The 22-year-old could provide solid cover should Swindon Town midfielder Yaser Kasim leave the club. The Iraq international is subject to Premier League interest, though any deal at this stage appears far from completion.
