Deadline Day: Vigouroux To Sign for STFC?

With eight hours of the UK transfer window remaining, many Robins fans are wondering whether the club will finally be able to put pen to paper on a permanent deal for loanee Liverpool goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

The Chilean stopper has featured in almost all of Swindon Town's games this season, cementing his position of number one following an impressive debut against his parent club during the pre-season campaign.

Town have already had one offer for the services of Vigouroux rebuffed by the powers that be on Merseyside earlier in the season, but since then a number of back room changes have occured at Liverpool, along with an influx of playing personnel.

Since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp the Reds have acquired Polish youth goalkeeper Kamil Grabara in a £250,000 deal, suggesting Vigouroux has now fallen further down the pecking order.

Swindon Town meanwhile have made goalkeeper Tyrell Belford available for loan, indicating Vigouroux has claimed the number one jersey as his own.

Fans hoping for any clue of a possible transfer were greeted by a cryptic post on the Twitter page of Vigouroux, as the 22-year-old simply tweeted the popular hashtag #Deadlineday.

English clubs have until 11pm to submit details of finalised transfer deals to the Football Association in order to complete a signing during the current window. Stay tuned to Total Sport for all updates as the clock continues to tick down.
