Swindon Town's 'stature' helped lure new recruit Delaney
Defender Ryan Delaney revealed how the “stature” of Swindon Town played a key role in him arriving at Swindon Town.
The 27-year-old centre-back became the club’s fourth new arrival of the summer, joining the likes of Ollie Clarke, Tunmise Sobowale and Rosaire Longelo.
He joined on a permanent deal from Newport County, having previously had spells at Rochdale, Morecambe, Bolton and Scunthorpe.
The former Republic of Ireland under-21 international has achieved success previously at League Two level, playing 24 times as he helped Bolton earn promotion from the division.

?? Welcome to #STFC, Ryan Delaney!
Speaking about the move to the County Ground, Delaney told the club website: "I'm delighted that it's all done now and I'm looking forward to the season ahead.
"The stature of the club and the head coach spoke to me about the outlook and what he wants to achieve here and what he want the players here to strive for, so that really excited me.
"I want just want to get out and play in front of the Swindon fans and, hopefully, achieve success this year."
Town continue to build their squad for the new campaign under new head coach Mark Kennedy.
As well as the new additions, Sean McGurk and Nnamdi Ofoborh have both signed new deals.
Delaney added: “There is going to be expectation here, we have already got the fanbase, you can see that from the outside, so players know coming here that there is going to be pressure and expectation.
“But when things are going well then that is where you want to be and the stature of a club, there is history here and all of that plays a part in a player coming to a club.
“Mark told me that he had a plan in place and I want to be a part of that, I want to be a success at this club.”
