Emil Grondal eagerly anticipating "exciting" debut season with the Swindon Robins
Emil Grondal believes the Swindon Robins "have a great team" ahead of the 2017 speedway season.
Grondal, a new addition to the Robins, is in the early stages of his speedway career, being just 21, but the Dane already has two years of racing in England to his name, after being with Peterborough between 2015 and 2017.
He is in good spirits ahead of his debut season in the Elite League, though.
"(The season is) looking really good," he said.
"!It's my first time in the Elite League, it's my first time in Swindon and I'm looking forward to (the season).
"I think we have a great team, it's a young team and I think it's going to be great. Everybody is very keen on the 2017 Speedway season, we just need to get out there and start racing."
"I've done a lot of preparation and been working hard in the winter. I've been racing in England the last two seasons, I'm just keen to take it to the next level.
"It's going to be an exciting year in Swindon and I'm glad I've got such a great opportunity to be part of such a professional team."
Swindon are not considered one of the strongest sides in the Premiership, but Grondal believes if the squad is on song, the sky is the limit for the Robins.
"If everybody is on their day I think we can end up at the top of the league.
"We all know each other from Europe, we've been racing around, I don't think it will take long to connect, we just need to build up the team and get ready.
"We have some really good characters, especially Jason Doyle and Nick Morris. Especially Jason Doyle - he's one of the best riders, if not the best rider, in the world."
Swindon get their season underway with a trip to Leicester on April 1 and their first meeting at the Abbey Stadium will be against Belle Vue on April 6.
