Swindon Town fans have their say on head coach appointment
Swindon Town fans have voiced their opinions via social media, following the appointment of Mark Kennedy as the club’s new head coach.
The 48-year-old has arrived at the County Ground on a two-year contract and begins his role with immediate effect.
Kennedy takes over following Gavin Gunning’s six-month spell as interim head coach, following the sacking of manager Michael Flynn in January.
He parted company with Lincoln City in October 2023 after 18 months in charge, winning 18 of his 57 league games.
He has previously managed Macclesfield at senior level, having also worked within the academies at Ipswich, Manchester City and Wolves.
Swindon Town fans saw their side finish 19th in League Two last season and have taken to X to have their say on the fresh start under Kennedy.
Below are a selection of posts following the appointment:
Good appointment now I want the club to back him and bring in experienced players and keep him for the season and not sack him when there’s a bit of bad form Imo

As always i wish him the best. All i want is a successful club and successful ownership. Hit the ground running and prove everyone wrong and i will be delighted

Very underwhelming. Good luck to the guy he's gonna need it. Hope he has a long list of names of players he wants because he's unlikely to get his 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th or 6th choices!!

Welcome and good luck. Hopefully soon we will get a few in and start building for a good season.

Another bizarre appointment, a club with no clue in what they are doing.

He was terrible at Macc before we went bankrupt but under difficult circumstances. His style of play was shocking. Hope he has improved tactically with age

Could be an excellent appointment. Seems to have a reputation for being able to coach a team to actually defend. A season of stability away from the relegation zone would be welcome.
