Grajczonek faces Premier League club as Kildemand lines up against Robins

Swindon ace Josh Grajczonek is looking to get his Robins’ career off to a flying start tonight, at the expense of his Premier League club.

The Aussie ace will double-up with Somerset in 2016 but will line-up for the Wiltshire outfit as they travel to the Oak Tree Arena to take on the Rebels this evening, proceedings beginning at 7.30pm.

Grajczonek linked up with his new Swindon team-mates for the first time as they hosted their press and practice day at the Abbey on Thursday.

After getting in plenty of track time Down Under over the winter, he is now hoping to hit the ground running and get his season off to a perfect start by helping Swindon defeat his Premier League employers.

Grajczonek said: “It’s going to be a bit strange riding against Somerset, but I’m looking forward to it and hoping to get off to a good start.

“I didn’t have a good Aussie season results wise, but it was still good to be riding fairly regularly and I did plenty of practising before I flew over.

“I felt like I was getting my groove back so to speak and I’m ready to get racing again so hopefully I can start off well and have a good year.”

While Grajczonek will be wearing Swindon colours, his team-mates Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright will both be in action for Somerset with league priority being observed.

The Rebels have also drafted in Grand Prix star Peter Kildemand to lead their side – with the Robins including former fans’ favourite Steve Worrall and local lad Darryl Ritchings.

SOMERSET SELECT: Peter Kildemand, Jake Allen, Charles Wright, Paul Starke, Rohan Tungate, Bradley Wilson-Dean, Zach Wajtknecht.

SWINDON SELECT: Jason Doyle, Justin Sedgmen, Josh Grajczonek, Steve Worrall, Nick Morris TBC, Darryl Ritchings, Stefan Nielsen.
