Grajczonek's joy as Robins fly to top of the league

Swindon Robins ace Josh Grajczonek was all smiles following his side's impressive demolition of Belle Vue in their own, brand new, stadium and was happy to play his part in a history-making win.

Grajczonek scored six-points as the M&S Van Rental Robins became the first ever winners of an Elite League meeting at the National Speedway Stadium, Belle Vue’s brand new home.

And Grajczonek also had good words to say about the new venue after he became the joint fastest rider of the night.

"It was another great win for the boys and even though we didn't have Jason (Doyle) here Chris (Harris) stepped in and did a great job for the team,” he said.

"The whole place is amazing and it's a great track to ride and to equal the track record is just the icing on what has been a great night for me.

"I got blocked by Sedgy (Justin Sedgmen) in that last one but we will take the win and go top of the league.

“It's early days we know but it's great to have the points on the board at this early stage of the season.”

Swindon have two vital meetings next week – both against King’s Lynn, who include ex-Robin Troy Batchelor.

They now go to Norfolk on Wednesday before returning to the Abbey Stadium on Thursday, May 19.
