Holloway: Swindon Town looked like a group that wants to fight for each other
Manager Ian Holloway hailed the team aspect of his Swindon Town side’s performance as they sealed a precious point at AFC Wimbledon.
Harry Smith’s 10th-minute opener put Town in the box seat at Plough Lane before James Tilley levelled for the Dons in the second half.
The 1-1 draw meant Town moved to 20 points from 22 League Two games, enough to put them three points clear of the drop zone.
Speaking post-match, Holloway said: "It was a League Two performance, and what I mean by that is when the ball dropped, we were there and we got a foot in and then won it back, we chased and we pressed.
"We were playing as a team and we were joined together, whereas before we were disjointed and we always gave the ball away and were wide open.
"At times it didn't look like they cared even though they do care because they were not in the right places because they were too expansive in a division that rips your throat out if you don't get it right.
"We are starting to play in areas which hurt them and force them into mistakes because we have lots of good players but it is about getting the right results.
"We looked like a League Two team and I am saying that proudly because we looked like a group that wants to fight for each other and that is what I did not see when I first came in here.
"I wanted to draw the second half, I don't think we have to push to win every half, I want them to realise that all you have to do is draw sometimes and it is annoying as if we could have got two straight wins then where could we go?"
Next up for Town is a trip to Bromley on Sunday (12.30pm).
Meanwhile, Swindon Town midfielder Sean McGurk has joined National League outfit Yeovil Town on a month’s loan.
