Holloway happy to see Swindon Town respond in 'punch for punch' draw at Doncaster
Boss Ian Holloway was delighted to see Swindon Town go “punch for punch” with one of League Two’s best, as they rallied to seal a 2-2 draw at Doncaster Rovers.
Town were staring at defeat after Rob Street struck for the hosts in the opening minute, Joe Sbarra then doubled Rovers’ advantage on 22 minutes.
But Holloway’s men fought back with two goals in a minute coming from Danny Butterworth and Joe Westley in the second half, to ensure the spoils were shared.
The result left Town 10 points off the play-off places, while Doncaster remain third in the table.
Holloway said: "It was punch for punch, but we have already proven in the last few weeks that we can stand in there and punch with the better ones in the league these days.”
Swindon Town have only lost once in their past 10 games, winning on six occasions in the process.
They host Cheltenham Town at the Nigel Eady County Ground on Saturday (12.30pm).
