Holloway 'gutted' after Swindon Town sunk at Harrogate

Boss Ian Holloway admitted he was “absolutely gutted” after Swindon Town’s unbeaten run came to an end at Harrogate.

Town were sunk by Jasper Moon’s 53rd minute goal as their run of five games without defeat came to an end with a 1-0 loss.

It left the Robins 17th in League Two, with 38 points from 32 games played.

Speaking post-match, Holloway said: "I think that the first goal in any game, especially at this level, is vital.

"Confidence leaves the team that conceded it and goes into the other team's veins.

"Then your substitutions kick in as you can make five of them, I didn't hang around to do that as I thought we needed an injection of fresh blood and a fresh mindset.

"Today it didn't work and that is football for you. You can say the same things and send the team out there the same way but sometimes it doesn't happen.

"There were lots and lots of good things that I felt my team did but I am absolutely gutted with the result."

Swindon Town had more than 60 per cent of the ball during the contest, as well as more shots on target.

And Holloway admitted he was left perplexed by his side’s failure to find the net.

"I honestly can't believe standing here how we didn't score in that game but that is what happens,” he said.

"Well done to them as they played their game and it is really difficult to play against, they are really well organised and a fantastic unit.”
