Holloway still happy with a point as Swindon Town pegged back by Salford
Boss Ian Holloway felt Swindon Town “deserved more” after their 2-2 home draw against Salford City.
The manager was speaking after the points were shared in the League Two contest – a result that sees Town sit 10 points adrift of the play-off places.
The hosts twice took the lead at the Nigel Eady County Ground, thanks to goals from Tom Nichols and Harry Smith.
But having been pegged back, Swindon were left to settle for a point despite a display Holloway was pleased with.
He said: “We deserved more than that, I will take a point as I thought they were really good and it was a hell of a game of football.
"Their manager has been around for a long time, their club is run by football people, and they have got some really good players but so have we.
"That is what makes me proud and it will feel like a win. It won't feel like a draw to me as all that matters is the performance, that is what I have said all along.
"We created fantastic chances, we just didn't finish them, we could have been 3-0 up after 10 minutes but it was not to be.
"We conceded two goals but I won't worry about that because we could have scored six against a team who are really good.”
Town, who are 14th in the division, make the trip to third-placed Doncaster Rovers on Saturday (3pm).
