Holloway to appeal FA misconduct charge
Swindon Town boss Ian Holloway confirmed he would be appealing his sending off against Chesterfield last weekend after being charged with misconduct.
The 61-year-old was dismissed after allegedly “acting in an inappropriate manner and/or using abusive and/or insulting words toward a match official” during his team’s 1-0 win.
He was sent off after just 10 minutes by referee Charles Breakspear but the Town boss insisted the club would be appealing the charge.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Walsall (3pm), Holloway said: “I am appealing it.
“I can’t really talk about it, but I am appealing it as I totally disagree with what the referee has put (in his report), so I have called for either a Zoom call or whatever it is to put my side across of their absolute bamboozled story.
“The referee said that it was aimed at him and it was blatantly obvious to everybody else bar him that it wasn’t.
“Having read what he has put, I am not saying that he is right in any way, shape, or form because it is a total disagreement between what he thinks happened and what I think happened.
“I believe that he is wrong, their manager believes he was wrong, everybody in the vicinity believes that he was wrong, but he hasn’t said he might have been mistaken.
“I am going to go and explain it from my point of view and I believe totally and utterly that there is justice in the world and that will get overturned.
“As it should be, I am innocent until proven guilty, so I can be on the bench for Saturday and then that is as far as I know.”
