Holloway has his say on replacing Russell and transfer responsibility
Swindon Town boss Ian Holloway insisted he did not need a replacement for Jamie Russell but added: “I have got some other things that I might need.”
Russell was previously the head of football at the Nigel Eady County Ground before leaving to join Salford City in November.
That left Holloway to oversee deals during the January transfer window where Town brought in three players.
The Town boss said: “If you are asking me whether I think I need to replace Jamie Russell then I think that that is a very unfair question.
“I didn’t work with Jamie for long enough but he actually got me the job here and I wish him the very best in what he does.
“We had problems here as they sacked the head coach [Mark Kennedy] and they sacked him.
“I don’t see me having a problem working with anyone that I have got here at the moment. So, do I need anyone else in that line or position? No. Not really.
“That will be for me to talk to Clem [Morfuni, owner] about and see where we go forward, I have got some other things that I might need which I have told him about.
“I have made it totally clear what I feel that we need and that is all I can do, we will have to wait and see.”
Having drawn 3-3 at home to Port Vale on Saturday, Swindon Town are currently 16th in League Two, 11 points off the play-off places.
They make the trip to Harrogate Town on Saturday (3pm).
