Jason Doyle set to return for Aces clash

SWINDON ROBINS Captain Jason Doyle is set to return to the side for Monday’s trip to Belle Vue as Swindon look to make it back-to-back league wins.

Having suffered a broken rib and a serious lung injury after crashing whilst racing for Polish team KS Torun in the Ekstraliga at the start of May, Doyle has been on the road to recovery as he raced to be fit for this weekends opening Grand Prix in Warsaw.

The return of the former World Champion provides Swindon with a welcome boost as the Blunsdon-based outfit look to earn their first away league win of the season after losing at Wolverhampton in their season-opener.

Jason Doyle will now head to Warsaw for this weekends curtain-raiser of the Speedway Grand Prix calendar, with the Swindon number one looking to get off to a flying start as he attempts to secure a second World Championship crown.

A difficult 2018 season saw the 33-year-old narrowly make the cut after finishing in 7th place of the GP standings with just nine points separating him from 9th position.

Swindon return to the Abbey Stadium on the 27th May against the Poole Pirates.
