Jon Obika named STFC supporter's player of the year

Swindon Town's powerful forward Jon Obika is this year's recipient of the STFC supporter's player of the year award, following a strong end to his personal season.

Obika collected the accolade at the recent Swindon Town Football Club sponsor's evening, an annual event whereby those who have performed at a high level throughout the season have their efforts recognised in front of their peers and supporters alike.

Obika was on target recently in Swindon Town's recent 2-2 draw away to Rochdale, in which the Robins salvaged a point despite having two men sent off.

Supporters have taken to Obika this season thanks to his robust performances, showing power and athleticism in holding up the ball and providing a reliable outlet for his strike partner Nicky Ajose.

During the current campaign Obika has featured 25 times for Swindon Town in League One, finding the back of the opposition goal on five occasions.
