Jordan Stewart signs for Irish club Linfield following release from Swindon Town

Forward Jordan Stewart has signed a pre-contract agreement at Linfield after being let go by Swindon at the end of the season.

Stewart signed for Swindon in the summer of 2015 for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £50,000, but had a difficult two years in Wiltshire.

In his first season he struggled with a bout of homesickness and then in the second he injured his MCL which ruled him out for a large chunk of the campaign.

He got himself fit again, but later found himself out of the squad reckoning as he was one of four players named as having been involved in an internal disciplinary matter at the club.

Stewart only featured in eight league matches for the Robins, but did score a wonderful goal against QPR in the League Cup in 2016.

The 22-year-old Northern Ireland Under-21 international signed from Glentoran and he has now returned to his native Northern Ireland.
