Ken Forshee returns to Swindon Wildcats set up as academy head coach
Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy have this week announced the familiar face of Ken Forshee as new Head Coach of the club, ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The former forward - who racked up over 300 points in just shy of 250 outings for Swindon between 1998 and 2007 - will be tasked with overseeing the continued development of our ever-growing Academy programme.
Having coached the U9s, in addition to a head coach role with the Wildcats, Forshee is no stranger to the set-up of the Academy and will now set about implementing his vision and ideas over the coming months.
Speaking about his new role, Forshee said: "I am really looking forward to my new coaching opportunity and am excited to be back in Swindon in a significant coaching role.
"I want to help make our programme the biggest and best in the country and help our players reach their goals and potential.
"As a club we already have a lot of great players and coaches in place, and now is the time to take it to the next level."
Forshee is a renowned figure in Swindon Ice Hockey Circles, and Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy Chairman, Steve Nell explained why the former player was the perfect choice.
"Ken is someone who I know extremely well and I know he will bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise and passion to the role.
"We have enjoyed both great success and progress throughout the Academy in recent years, but now is the time to take it to the next level and we believe Ken is the perfect man to help us do that."
