Kennedy confirms Swindon Town still looking to add to squad

Swindon Town boss Mark Kennedy hailed the proactiveness of the club’s recruitment as he gets set to see his new-look team in action.

The Robins begin their pre-season preparations with a trip to Swindon Supermarine tomorrow.

Swindon have brought in six fresh faces this summer, as well as agreeing new deals for the likes of Nnamdi Ofoborh and Sean McGurk.

And Kennedy, who was appointed as head coach in the summer, insisted there was still business to be done.

He said: “I would just say that we need a couple more bodies in, although I don’t want to give too much away, which is only fair.

“We are not finished but that doesn’t mean there are another 10 players to come.

“It is so difficult signing players for multiple reasons but we would like to get a couple more in and if the right players present themselves then we will go for that. We are interested in good players.”

He added: “We have been really aggressive with our signings and got them done quite early.

“I like to get things done quickly because it gives you more time to work, especially being a new coach with new principles and philosophy.

“That was very important for me and I think the club have been very proactive and that can only be a good thing.”
