Lawrence Vigouroux completes loan move to Irish club Waterford from Swindon Town
Swindon Town goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux has signed a loan deal at Waterford FC.
Vigouroux was a key member of the Swindon Town squad last season, scooping up multiple player-of-the-season awards as Swindon were relegated from League One.
He made 99 appearances for the club in total after an initial season-long loan spell, before he made that move permanent in the summer of 2016.
This season, however, he has regularly found himself on the wrong side of manager David Flitcroft with Reice Charles-Cook now the club's number one.
Waterford are, like Swindon, owned by Lee Power and Vigouroux becomes the third Swindon player to have a loan spell there, after Tom Smith and Jake Evans spent the second half of last season in Ireland.
Vigouroux's Swindon contract does not expire until the end of next season.
Speaking to the Waterford website, Vigouroux said:
"There is a very good set up here in Waterford and it what I am used to, coming from England; the professionalism, sessions and coaching is all very good.
“I have come here to try and enjoy my football again, to get back to playing and hopefully help the club in any way that I can this season."
