Lawrence Vigouroux's penalty save was karma according to Nathan Thompson

Swindon captain Nathan Thompson believes Lawrence Vigouroux's super spot-kick stop at Wimbledon was "karma" for the dive in the build-up.

Swindon could only manage a 0-0 draw at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday afternoon, but it could have been a lot worse had Vigouroux not brilliantly denied Lyle Taylor from 12 yards.

Many Town players and supporters initially thought the penalty came about due to a dive after Conor Thomas took his foot away from the player, before the Wimbledon man hit the deck.

Thompson said at full-time that the save was karma due to poor refereeing.

"Over the course of the last six, seven, eight games now I think we have been unfairly treated," Thompson said.

"There have been penalties that have been (fouls) outside the box (referencing Oxford away) and there have been penalties that have not been penalties.

"The fact that the striker has jumped up and apologised to Conor (Thomas) straight away shows it is a dive and it sums up our luck a bit, but to see Lawrence (Vigouroux) make a save like that, I think it was karma."
