Smith, 22, signed a season-long loan deal at Town last Wednesday and the Millwall forward has got two games under his belt during his first week at the County Ground.
Swindon is Smith's first loan away from Millwall, which has come about due to a lack of first-team opportunities at the Den given the form of their strikers Steve Morison and Lee Gregory.
Smith has scored one league goal in nine outings for Millwall but did net a hat-trick against Braintree in the FA Cup last season.
His first outing for Swindon was in a 1-1 draw with Oldham, but that match was behind closed doors, so he was first seen by his new fans during Monday night's draw, also 1-1, away at Salisbury.
It was a mixed night for Smith. He missed a third-minute penalty, but recovered well to score Town's solitary goal via a header from a few yards out, which put Swindon 1-0 in front.
Smith was replaced at half-time by Luke Norris and Swindon's performance dipped after the restart.
"He's done okay, he's got to find his feet, he's been in the door a week now, it's a different environment to what he's had.
"[Referencing the build-up to the goal] I liked (James) Brophy's chip, it's something we've been working on: trying to pick people out with Brophs. It was a fantastic little set-up and it made it easy for H to get up and score.
"If you get the quality right for Harry then the goals will come, so like I said, he's growing into the games, he's growing into the training and growing into the squad."
However, Flitcroft did bemoan the fact that Swindon have now missed both of the two penalties they have been awarded in their four pre-season matches. Paul Mullin had one saved against Melksham earlier on this summer.
"That's two penalties we've missed now, we haven't even talked about a designated penalty taker."
