The January window, especially for Swindon fans this time around, is more about signing players rather than trying to keep hold of stars but as the frustration of lack of movement continues, a worry that star man Vigouroux could depart is also lingering at the back of minds.
Chilean Vigouroux has been one of few standout performers for the Robins with his clean sheets, particularly in home matches, being a contributing factor in the club being above the drop zone as opposed to in it.
He has kept eight clean sheets in total, six of which at the County Ground, while a penalty save at AFC Wimbledon and a string of saves at Southend earned Town two rare points on the road.
Championship clubs Newcastle United and Norwich City have both been linked with a move for the 23-year-old but Williams thinks the ex-Liverpool man is going to stay at the club for the time being.
"I can't tell you for sure (whether he will be at the club post-January) but I would be surprised if he's not," Williams began.
"The boy is going to go on to bigger and better things but I think he'll stop with us for a bit longer before he does.
"I think it's good for him (to stay). He's learning a lot, he's getting plenty of games, he's under a lot of pressure at times but it's perfect for his development.
"I should think that he will see the season out (that's) my gut feeling."
The goalkeeper cost Swindon £400,000 in the summer.
