Manager Alun Rossiter’s Reaction to Tenth Straight Victory
After the Swindon Robins rode to their tenth straight victory on Thursday evening, beating Leicester 52 – 40, TotalSport Swindon’s Ryan Walker was trackside to get the reaction of manager Alun Rossiter.
A slow start to proceedings this season saw the Wiltshire club struggle to find a good run of form. But after last nights victory the club made it ten wins in a row, and Rossiter expressed his delight.
“ It’s brilliant to be able to get the ten wins in a row.” Began Rossiter.
“ I’m really happy with the end result.
“ The track was a bit slicker than usual tonight and we did struggle for a bit but eventually we got it going and I’m delighted.” Said Rossiter.
Despite eventually winning by twelve points, the score line doesn’t truly reflect Leicester’s performance. And Rossiter admits things got too close for comfort come the end of the meeting.
“ I was giving Ronnie Russell some nervy looks but we got there in the end.” Admitted Rossiter.
“ The boys were brilliant again. It’s great to be at the top of the table but we’ve got to keep it going.
“ We can’t take our foot of the pedal and it doesn’t matter whether it’s ten, eleven, or twelve wins.” He added.
“ We’ve just got to keep going.”
Injury to superstar rider Jason Doyle on Wednesday evening saw team Great Britain rider Chris Harris drafted into the Robins side, and the Swindon manager was full of praise for his guest booking, whilst adding that Edward Kennet would be guesting for Swindon on Saturday against Rye House.
“ Chris Harris has never let me down, not once.” Stated Rossiter.
“ He was fantastic once again tonight and filled in great for Doyley.
“ We won away at Rye House at the start of the season so we should be fine.
“ Edward Kennett will be drafted in and I’m sure he’ll do a good job.” He said.
