MATCH REPORT: Swindon Wildcats 3-2 Hull Pirates

Sam Bullas' overtime goal got the Swindon Wildcats a 3-2 win over Hull on Saturday evening.

Mark Smith opened the scoring at 8:17 when he was assisted by Jonas Hoog and Jordan Kelsall and the lead did last a long time but the Swindon defence was eventually breached 11 minutes later.

At 19:57 Hull levelled the contest via Jason Hewitt's goal that was set up by Andrej Thamer just as it looked like Swindon would end the first period in the lead.

In period two, Hull would go a goal up for the first and only time of the match at 36:32 courtesy of Nathan Salem who was assisted by Thamer and Dominic Osman.

The second period ended 2-1 but the Wildcats levelled in period three.

Bang on eight minutes from time, 52:00, Jan Kostal scored to make it 2-2 which forced the game into overtime. Floyd Taylor and Bullas got the assists and the latter would make the telling difference in this match.

As early as 63:14 Bullas slotted in the crucial winner which sparked joyous scenes at the Link Centre as three wins in a row were secured.
