MATCH REPORT: Swindon Wildcats 6-2 MK Lightning
The Swindon Wildcats roared to a convincing 6-2 win over second-placed Milton Keynes at the Link on Saturday.
Robin Kovar gave the Swindon Wildcats the lead early on, at 1:32, with Phil Hill getting the assist to immediately put Swindon on the front foot.
Blaz Emersic levelled the game at 8:05, assisted by Craig Scott and Michael Farn, and the first period ended 1-1.
At 20:15 the Lightning went in front, for the first and only time in the game, when Lewis Hook netted past Stevie Lyle in the Swindon goal, but the Wildcats were not prepared to lie down against their higher-placed opposition.
Michael Stratford had the game equal again at 22:25 when he was fed the puck by Floyd Taylor.
Not long after, at 24:28, Jordan Kelsall turned the game around for a second time following build-up work by Hill and Robin Kovar.
Kovar got on the scoresheet himself at 48:44 with Tomasz Malasinski and Jonas Hoog being the providers and the Lightning really had to weather the storm at 52:08 when Malasinski turned scorer.
Malasinski scored a shorthanded goal after assists by Stevie Whitfield and Taylor and Malasinski completed the scoring at 54:40 with strike number six for Swindon.
He scored after assist work by Hoog and Lee Richardson.
