MATCH REPORT: Wantage 0-5 Swindon Supermarine

Swindon Supermarine returned to winning ways with a 5-0 demolishing of Wantage Town.

Supermarine ended 2016 with two draws away at Mangotsfield and at home to North Leigh but 2017 could not have started any better.

Connor Thompson headed the promotion-chasers into a 20th-minute lead after Connor Waldon somehow hit a shot straight at the keeper after Callum Parsons' cross however Thompson was primed to nod in the rebound.

It was 2-0 12 minutes later. From a Wantage free-kick, Supermarine countered and Josh Parsons slotted the ball into the back of the net after being played in by Waldon.

There was still time for a third before half-time, via the penalty spot.

Thompson was brought down in the box and Brad Hooper stepped up to convert the spot-kick to extend the score to 3-0.

Just two minutes after the restart Callum Parsons chipped the goalkeeper for 4-0 with Waldon notching his third assist of the contest.

A second penalty by Hooper was scored to finish the scoring in the 89th minute.
