Morris Sizing Up Tough Task Of Becoming Aus Champion
Robins racer Nick Morris is facing a tough task to become Australian Champion ahead of the final round in Mildura.
Morris, back with the Abbey Stadium side for the 2016 season in March, is six-points behind new Poole signing Brady Kurtz after notching 11 from his five qualifying rounds in the third round.
He said: "You really need to get first and seconds in all of your heats and that will get you a place straight to the final.
"If you get stuck in traffic in these heats and run a third you are looking for favours from others and now going in to Mildura on Sunday I can't afford that.
"My aim is go there Sunday and ensure I finish in the top four at the end of the night and secure one of the four GP spots I want. Anything after that will be a bonus.
"Six points behind Brady at the top now is a tall order but I have confidence in my own ability and I know I can beat these guys so I certainly haven't given up hope yet."
Swindon team-mate Justin Sedgmen bounced back to his best with a rostrum finish and is now relishing the prospect of the final round.
He said: "Mildura is my home track and is the one I want to win more than any other.
“I said before Gillman that I was in there as a spoiler and I'll still have that attitude on Sunday because I reckon my chance of finishing top five are perhaps beyond me.
"I've definitely not given up on it but clawing back nine points on the guys who are already up there will be extremely difficult.
“I have to just concentrate on winning the round and not worry about anything else."
