MUSIELAK THE MAN FOR SWINDON THIS SEASON

Tobiasz Musielak starts his second season at the Swindon Robins having endured arguably the most successful year of his career so far, and now in a full-time heat leader role at the Wiltshire club, TotalSport Swindon’s Ryan Walker believes Musielak will be the sides star rider this season.

A successful 2017 saw the Swindon Robins rise from underdogs to champions in a season full of action-packed racing, and now they will be put to gauntlet attempting to retain their league title. But without the scoring power of Jason Doyle this year, the squad will need to increase their point scoring with racer Tobiasz Musielak aiming to rise to the top on British speedway’s biggest stage.

Rewind to the beginning of last season and the Swindon Robins started their league campaign with two straight losses before going on to suffer a further three straight defeats in May.

However the masterstroke signing of Musielak at the start of July saw the team go on their record-breaking streak of sixteen consecutive wins, with many tipping the Polish born rider as the key to success. Now with the 24-year-old tasked with being one of the side’s main threats, Musielak must once again raise his performances to match those at the top of the speedway World.

Born in Leszno, Poland, Tobiasz Musielak found his love for the sport at a young age developing his passion into performances over the years before eventually being given his first professional opportunity at his hometown club in the Ekstraliga. Polish racing saw the youngster learn from the best and after making his mark in Britain last season, the term ‘hot prospect’ has never been more applicable.

His riding style is ferocious and without fear, and every time he takes to the shale you expect a win. But in a nation full of top riders it will be difficult for Swindon’s Musielak to break the mould and establish himself as one of the best around. However if he can consistently perform on the highest stage then there are no limitations as to what this rider can achieve.

In a side without a big name rider, the Swindon Robins will require every squad member to perform to their best each time they take to the track in order to stand a chance of retaining their league title. And with Tobiasz Musielak in the team, it seems as if the Robins certainly have an ace up their sleeve.
