0700 392 1235A big night of bank holiday speedway at the Abbey Stadium saw the Swindon Robins record the leagues biggest win of the 2019 season in their 66-24 rout over Ipswich. But Musielak admitted that the racing was still tough despite the scoreline.
“Yes the score looks easy but speedway is always tough out on the track,” he said.
“The Ipswich riders tried hard and at times it was close but we did a good job.
“When the meeting starts with a couple of five-ones like it did then things are of course easier for us.
“We were happy with the start and the overall score,” he said.
A great performance from Musielak saw the Polish-born rider score nine points from his opening three rides with Musielak being denied a paid maximum after going through the tapes in his last ride of the evening.
And speaking in the pits following the action, Musielak explained how a malfunction in his machinery caused him to fire through the tapes at the start line, before giving his opinion on the referee's performance which caused numerous re-runs on a hot summers evening.
“Straight before the last race I had something broken in my seat when I got pushed out onto the track,” said Musielak.
“Something was broken on my seat plate and after the first jump, I felt my seat was going towards the mudguard which is why I then moved and touched the tapes.
“That was a joke [the length the tapes were being held for],” he added.
"On the first part of the meeting they were holding it for too long
“The first heat started four times and that was because of the the tapes being held. It’s bad for the riders because you’re sat there with our clutches burning in the high temperature.
"I don’t want to say too much about it,” Musielak said.
The winning result saw the Swindon Robins celebrate their seventieth anniversary in style as the club maintained their unbeaten league form to rocket themselves into the playoff positions as the season edges ever closer towards the finish line.
And Musielak gave a brief insight into the attitude within the pits, stating that all of the Swindon riders believe that the club can once again become league champions.
“I feel great,” said Musielak.
“I hope we can win the league.
“We are getting better every meeting and it looks like we can win something special,” he said.
