Neil Liddiard will be Returning to the Wildcats!
Swindon Wildcats are delighted to announce that Neil Liddiard will be returning to the Wildcats for the forthcoming season, making it his fifth season in Swindon since his return from Guildford in 2015.
The 41-year-old defenceman was crucial in the Wildcats NIHLS1 success last campaign and once again led the way in the D core with his no-nonsense, shot-blocking kind of play. Chipping in with 18 points over the season as well, including three goals, Neil was a vital part of the team and a leader on and off the ice.
Head Coach Aaron Nell was delighted to have secured his services for another campaign.
“I’m thrilled to have Neil back with us for another season. He is a leader for us in the way he plays and the way he conducts himself off the ice as well. His work rate is phenomenal, and he is the epitome of a player who will do anything for the logo on the front of the jersey.
Everyone learns from Neil and he is a dream to coach. It was a very easy decision to bring him back again and I know he’ll be working hard this summer ready for the challenges of the upcoming season!”.
Liddiard himself added:
“It was a really simple decision to sign for another year. Swindon is a great organisation and it has the best fans in the league.
I feel very fortunate to be able to play for another year, and I hope to help the team build on the recent success we have had over the last couple of seasons. We want to bring some more trophies back to Swindon and the new league will be tough, it’s exciting and we cannot wait to get started in September”.
Neil once again led the team in blocked shots last season and will be a vital part of the defence alongside Stevie Whitfield and Tyler Plews, who have both already been announced.
