Neilson Brothers to deliver a knockout event

In their second outing of professional boxing promoters, brothers Mark and Tony Neilson bring their Neilson Boxing event to a new venue in Swindon in their first venture of 2017.

In the first professional boxing event to take place at the PlayFootball Area in Bramble Road, Swindon.

Promoters said: “this is a fantastic new venue and the management team have worked really hard with us to get the necessary permission to put the show on here, we’re excited about bringing future events here as well”.

After previously working behind the scenes with other established promoters, 2016 saw the brothers bring the WBC Female Silver title to Swindon which was won by the popular Kelly Morgan.

Morgan is now chasing a full WBC World Title and is training, awaiting a date for her big challenge. Their next event, titled The Homecoming, which is taking place over Easter weekend on Saturday 15th April, will be headlined by No 5 ranked British Welterweight Tamuka ‘Too Much’ Mucha.

Mucha, who currently lives in Reading but has family ties in Swindon, hopes to extend his unbeaten run to 17-0 in a competitive eight-rounder but has to overcome the six-foot tall Rob Hunt, himself with 24 wins to his name.

Tamuka said “Swindon is like a second home to me as my mum lives here, and I’ve already won here four times so hopefully I can do the same again.

"I’m also looking to move here myself so hopefully can build a fan base and hopefully fight for titles in front of the great Swindon boxing crowd”.

Co-Main event will be the experienced Danny Butler (26-6), a former English champion and IBO and WBO European title challenger. Butler hopes that his move to Middleweight will bring him further success and see him challenge for the British Title later in the year.

In a stacked undercard, exciting Gloucester prospect, Riiddy Ennis-Brown, known as Riiddy Riival to his growing fan base, will face a tough Eastern European over six rounds as he works towards a shot at the English Title, hopefully in his next outing. Riiddy said “I’ve been getting some great sparring, a couple of weeks ago I did some decent rounds with current IBF and WBA World Champion Ricky Burns and held my own so hopefully I can keep performing and moving up the rankings.
